About Us

The Valley Orchestra Guild (aka VOG) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that supports and enhances the 4th - 12th grade orchestra program in West Des Moines Community School District (WDMCS). The Guild hosts a variety of programs financed primarily by fundraisers and donations.

VOG Board members consist of parents of high school orchestra students. We are ordinary people from every walk of life. Our common interest lies in using our time and talents to support the students and teachers in their musical journey.

  • Volunteering

As many of you know, volunteering is a great way to get to know other parents in the school. Volunteering for the Guild is an exceptional experience!

Check out our Volunteer page for opportunities. We would love to have you help. Opportunities begin in Elementary school with a need for chaperones at the Skate Parties and parents to assist with the Pizza Sales.

At the High School level there are many ways to help. We have a volunteer coordinator to help plug you in to where you'd like to help. Opportunities are available with Instrument Rental, Receptions, Fundraisers, Publicity, Website, Awards Banquet and more. Let us know you'd like to help by calling a board member or by filling out the form in Contact Us.

How do we support our projects?

We support our projects by fundraising. Our major fundraising event for the entire 4-12 program is the Pizza Sale in January. High School students participate in a variety of other sales which include coffee/cookie dough, poinsettias, flowers and more.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased items from an orchestra student or made a donation. As you can see from the column at left, your support makes a difference!
